Engineering: Windmill Workshop

Students practice the steps of the engineering design process as they test how changing aspects of a windmill blade affect its efficiency. They design and test their own blades with a strong emphasis on planning and redesign. The program also incorporates physical science framework connections and math connections such as graphing results.

Capacity: 1 class (up to 24 students) per session; 1 - 4 presentations per day.

Schedule: Available during school hours, Monday - Friday

Requirements: A room with open floor space at least 10' x 20' in area, plus space to set up a video projector and portable screen.

Fee $315 for 1 session; $65 for each additional session. Travel fees apply for sites more than 30 miles from the Museum.
