Educator Resource Center in the Lyman Library As part of the Museum’s goal to improve STEM literacy in grades K - 12, the Lyman Library is now dedicated to YOU for use as a multimedia resource center and professional development space. The center is still under renovation, but you can schedule an appointment to use the resources by emailing library@mos.org. Learn More

Brains Making Your Mind: Molecules, Motion, and Memory

Join us as we host a webcast of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute's Holiday Lectures on Science. Each series brings together students and eminent scientists at Janelia Farms. This year, Eric Kandel, MD, and Thomas Jessel, PhD present four lectures that explore the development, functioning, and plasticity of the human brain.

Forces That Change Us
Educators for grades 6 - 12

Explore more about the intimate relationship between our bodies and the environment in the Forces That Change Us series. Educators are encouraged to attend the lectures or apply to join the speakers and Genzyme employees for a pre-lecture lunch, discussion, and related learning experiences. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Light, Sleep, and Space
Sunday, January 11, 12:00 p.m. (lecture begins at 1: 00 p.m.)
Discover the genetics behind circadian rhythms with Dr. Laura Barger, associate physiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Division of Sleep Medicine, and find out how she uses light to adjust astronauts and space program personnel to "space days" lasting other than 24 hours.
