Suit / Cabot Lab

Exhibit [Return to listing page]
Red Wing, Lower Level

Take on the role of a scientist and explore topics as diverse as DNA, chemistry, and plant biology in the Museum's drop-in laboratory.

What do my cells look like? Do I breathe like a plant? What chemicals are in my orange juice?

Explore the answers to these any many other intriguing questions while having fun and investigating the worlds around and within us. Volunteers assist visitors of all ages as they use many of the real tools and techniques that a researcher might use to perform genuine experiments and other hands-on activities. Members of the Museum's live animal collection and other living organisms also make regular appearances in the lab.

Activities vary from week to week. The Suit / Cabot Lab is open to visitors Tuesday - Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (except when special requests are made by schools. Check the Museum map / guide for availability) and Saturday, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The lab is located in the Red Wing, Lower Level, near the Live Animal Center observation window.
